The Opportunity

The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Oklahoma City. This individual owns the firm's relationships with referral sources and centers of influence across the region: CPAs, attorneys, wealth advisors, commercial bankers, and industry association leadership. They represent First Turn Capital throughout Oklahoma's business community. The work combines market research, relationship management, event presence, and marketing support. This is not a registered position. The duties are limited to referral relationships, research, events, and marketing; any conversation that turns to a specific engagement, transaction terms, or the merits of a sale is handed to one of the firm's registered representatives. The Business Development Manager works closely with the deal team to make those introductions clean and well-informed. This is a salaried role, with compensation not tied to individual transactions.

Oklahoma City is our home market, and this role owns it. You will be the face of the firm across the associations, chambers, and industry groups where Oklahoma's business owners and their advisors spend their time, with direct access to a founder who built, scaled, and exited his own company.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain relationships with referral sources and centers of influence across Oklahoma: CPAs, attorneys, wealth advisors, commercial bankers, and business brokers who advise owners of middle-market companies
• Show up consistently at local CPA and attorney events, including accounting society chapter meetings, bar association functions, and estate-planning and business-law gatherings, since those advisors are who an owner talks to first when a sale is on their mind
• Represent First Turn Capital at industry events, association meetings, conferences, and networking functions across the Oklahoma City metro and the broader state
• Conduct market research to map target industries, identify companies of interest, and understand the operational and financial dynamics of the sectors we serve
• Support marketing campaigns across email, content, and collateral, and keep the firm's market presence consistent and current
• Maintain the firm's contact database and referral records, ensuring relationships are tracked, followed up on, and nothing goes stale
• Coordinate introductions between referral sources and the firm's registered representatives, and brief the deal team with background and context ahead of those conversations
• Manage the firm's sponsorships and association memberships across the Oklahoma market

Who We're Looking For

• Relationship management and business development skills, with experience building and sustaining professional networks
• Strong communication abilities, with clear written and verbal skills and confidence in professional conversations and presentations
• Analytical and research capabilities to assess markets, identify target companies, and understand key financial and operational drivers
• Experience or strong interest in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or related financial services; familiarity with blue-collar industries is highly beneficial
• Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to meet goals, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with a small team
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Willingness to work on-site in Oklahoma City and travel across the region for meetings and industry events

The Opportunity

First Turn Capital's Dallas office advises privately held companies across Texas and the Southern US on sell-side and buy-side transactions, recapitalizations, growth capital, and debt restructuring. We are seeking a licensed M&A Broker to help grow our presence in the Texas market. Our core sectors include industrial services, construction, oilfield services, utilities, manufacturing, and trucking & logistics.

This role carries real ownership of our Texas presence. You will have the autonomy to originate deals, manage client relationships, and execute transactions from engagement through close, all with the full support and resources of an established firm behind you.

What You'll Do

• Originate new business by identifying and developing relationships with prospective sellers, business owners, and referral sources across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and broader Texas market
• Manage the full transaction lifecycle on sell-side and buy-side M&A engagements, from initial valuation through closing
• Prepare and present pitch materials, Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), teasers, and management presentations to prospective clients and buyers
• Build and maintain detailed financial models including discounted cash flow analyses, comparable company analyses, and precedent transaction analyses
• Conduct buyer outreach campaigns, coordinate due diligence processes, and facilitate negotiations between buyers and sellers
• Advise business owners on transaction readiness, deal structure, and strategies to maximize enterprise value
• Collaborate with the Oklahoma City team on cross-market opportunities and firm-wide deal flow
• Maintain compliance with all FINRA regulations and securities laws applicable to M&A advisory activities

Who We're Looking For

• Active FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative) licenses required
• Demonstrated deal experience in mergers and acquisitions, with a track record of closed transactions
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust with business owners and C-suite executives
• Self-directed professional who thrives with autonomy and takes ownership of outcomes
• Established network of business relationships in the Texas market is strongly preferred
• CFA, CBI (Certified Business Intermediary), or M&AMI (M&A Master Intermediary) designations are a plus
